MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Columbus Catholic pulled into a tie for first place in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a 60-43 win over Gilman on Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
The game was tied 29-29 at halftime before the Dons pulled away in the second half, holding Gilman to 14 points.
Addison Baierl made five 3-pointers, was 6-for-8 at the free throw line, and finished with a game-high 25 points for Columbus Catholic, which improves to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Cloverbelt East. The Dons are tied with Loyal and Neillsville for first place in the conference standings.
Annika Brown added 13 points and Emmalee Jicinsky scored 10 for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic will enjoy some time off before returning to action Jan. 3 at home against Greenwood.
