AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team jumped on Augusta early, limiting the Beavers to 11 first-half points to open up a 30-point lead, and cruised to a 76-33 victory in the semifinals of the Auburndale Holiday Tournament on Friday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale led 44-11 at halftime and polished off the 43-point win with a strong second half as well.
Cooper Weinfurter had 19 points, and Cody Trowbridge and Hunter Wright each had 12 points in the victory as the Apaches improve to 8-0 this season.
Nine different Auburndale players scored in the win.
Auburndale will play Neillsville (7-1) in the championship game of the tournament at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
