Columbus Catholic girls basketball pounds Greenwood

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team kept pace atop of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division standings with a dominating 55-21 win over Greenwood on Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons held Greenwood to eight made field goals in the game, improving to 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus Catholic is tied with Neillsville and Loyal for first place in the conference standings. Greenwood drops to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Addison Baierl scored 27 points for the Dons, 17 coming in the second half as Columbus pulled away.

Celine Wuethrich scored nine points for Greenwood.

Columbus Catholic hosts Loyal on Thursday.
