NEILLSVILLE – Jaden Barth drilled six 3-pointers, five in the second half, to help push the Neillsville girls basketball team to a 43-27 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a battle of Cloverbelt Conference East Division leaders on Tuesday night at Neillsville High School.
Neillsville led 20-16 at halftime before Barth’s outside shooting propelled them to a double-digit victory. Barth accounted for 15 of the Warriors’ 23 second-half points, while Columbus Catholic only scored 11 as a team in the second 18-minute period.
Addison Baierl had 12 points for the Dons, who fall out of a second-place tie in the conference standings. Columbus Catholic is now 6-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
Neillsville maintains a one-half game lead over Loyal for the lead in the Cloverbelt East, improving to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference.
Columbus Catholic plays at Colby and Neillsville hosts Owen-Withee on Friday.
