Edgar comes back in second half to beat Stratford girls basketball

EDGAR – Edgar stormed back from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat Stratford 47-42 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Edgar High School.

Stratford led 26-18 at halftime before Edgar came back, outscoring the Tigers by 13 in the second half to pull out the victory.

Breanna Ackley had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Emily Hughes added 12 points and six rebounds for Stratford.

Stratford is now 4-9 overall and 3-6 in the Marawood South, while Edgar improves to 9-3 and 6-3 in conference play.

Edgar statistics were not reported.

Edgar hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Monday and Stratford will be at home against Wausau Newman Catholic on Tuesday.
