Stratford boys basketball pulls away to defeat Edgar

EDGAR – Stratford outscored Edgar by 11 points in the second half to pull away and defeat the Wildcats 56-39 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Edgar High School.

Stratford led 28-22 at halftime and limited the Wildcats to 17 points in the second half to finish off the win. The Tigers remain undefeated this season, moving to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the Marawood South. Edgar is now 8-3 and 5-3 in the conference.

Ben Barten had 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds for Stratford. Teddy Redman added 13 points and Chandler Schmidt scored 12, making 7 of 8 free throws, for the Tigers.

Stratford hosts Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau for a nonconference game Tuesday.
