COLBY – The Spencer boys basketball team remains one-half game out of first place in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division after beating Colby 59-54 on Thursday night at Colby High School.
Colby led 31-27 at halftime before Spencer rallied, outscoring the Hornets by nine in the second half to win.
Brett Kasch scored 23 points and Eric Ehlert added 15 points for the Rockets (8-2, 7-1 Cloverbelt East).
Harley Schmelzer had 23 points for Colby (4-6, 3-4 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer plays a nonconference game at Auburndale on Tuesday.
