AUBURNDALE – Auburndale dominated the first half and that was more than enough as it whipped Spencer 89-55 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale (13-1) put up 58 points in the first half, while holding Spencer to just 20 in busting open the game quickly.
Cooper Weinfurter was one fire for the Apaches, making 11 of 15 shots overall, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range, to finish with a game-high 30 points. Hunter Wright added 20 points, and Fletcher Raab and Dylan Paun each chipped in eight in the victory.
Brett Kasch and Austin Bacon both had 13 points for the Rockets, who fall to 8-3.
Spencer plays at Granton on Friday in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup, and Auburndale will be at Rib Lake for a Marawood Conference crossover game on Thursday.
