ST. CROIX FALLS – Ashton Ackman and Treyton Ackman each finished second for the Spencer/Columbus Catholic wrestling team at the St. Croix Falls Wrestling Classic on Saturday.
Ashton Ackman (28-3) lost a major decision 11-0 to Tanner Gerber (34-1) of Cameron in the 113-pound championship match.
Treyton Ackman (32-3) also fell in the finals, losing the 120-pound championship to Joey Thompson (30-1) of Totino Grace (Minn.) 9-5.
Spencer/Columbus finished 14th in the team standings. Host St. Croix Falls won the team title with 197 points and Princeton was second with 170.
Spencer/Columbus will finish its regular-season schedule with a dual against Eau Claire Regis/Altoona on Friday at Neillsville. The Cloverbelt Conference Tournament will be Feb. 8 at Stanley-Boyd.
