EAU CLAIRE – Eau Claire North missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer and the Marshfield boys basketball team held on for a 65-63 win in a nonconference game Tuesday night at North High School.
Marshfield trailed 33-24 at halftime before rallying with a 41-points second half.
The Tigers (10-6) made 12 of 24 from 3-point range, led by senior Joey Goettl, who made 5 of 8 from long-range. Sam Hinson and Anthony Posteluk each made three 3-pointers as well.
Anthony Posteluk was 8-for-12 from the field and scored a team-high 23 points, Goettl added 21, and Hinson finished with 14 for Marshfield. Posteluk also had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Dalton Banks scored 28 points to lead Eau Claire North (10-4), but had to take 28 shots to do it, making 10.
Marshfield returns to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Friday at home against D.C. Everest. The two teams are tied for first place in the conference at 6-2.
