STRATFORD – The Auburndale girls basketball team held Stratford to just eight made field goals and cruised to a 41-26 win in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
Auburndale ran out to a 23-12 lead by halftime and held on from there.
Natalie Aue had nine of her 13 points in the second half, and Georgi Schmutzer made three 3-pointers to finish with nine points for Auburndale (15-5, 10-4 Marawood South).
Breanna Ackley had 12 points for the Tigers (6-13, 5-9 Marawood South).
Both teams return to action Friday for Marawood Conference crossover games. Stratford will be at Rib Lake and Auburndale plays at Athens.
