Stratford boys basketball knocks off Rib Lake, improves to 18-0

RIB LAKE – Vaughn Breit had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Stratford boys basketball team to a 57-44 win over Rib Lake in a Marawood Conference crossover games between the respective division leaders on Thursday night at Rib Lake High School.

Stratford led 26-16 at halftime and was able to hold on from there to remain undefeated this season. The Tigers are now 18-0 overall and 13-0 on top of the Marawood South standings. Rib Lake falls to 16-3 and stay on top of the Marawood North standings at 11-3.

Dawson Danen added 13 points on the strength of three 3-pointers, and Ben Barten chipped in 10 for Stratford.

Stratford shot an efficient 48 percent from the field (20-for-41), was 50 percent from 3-point range (5-for-10) and 75 percent at the free throw line (12-for-16) in the win.

Stratford will enjoy a week off before playing at Auburndale on Friday, Feb. 21. With a win, Stratford would clinch its second-straight Marawood South championship.
