Marshfield boys basketball sinks 13 3-pointers, downs Wausau East

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team shot 52 percent from the field and made 13 3-pointers to outlast Wausau East 78-67 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest on Thursday night at East High School.

With the win, Marshfield improves to 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, and remains one game behind D.C. Everest for the lead in the standings with two games remaining.

Anthony Posteluk made four 3-pointers and was 9-for-11 at the free throw line to score a game-high 27 points for the Tigers.

Joey Goettl hit three 3-pointers and added 17 points, Sam Hinson chipped in 13 points, and Addison Hill was 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point line and scored 10 in the win for Marshfield.

Gabe Krueger led Wausau East (9-10, 3-7 Wisconsin Valley Conference) with 21 points before fouling out.

Marshfield returns to action Tuesday at Wausau West.
