Moore hits late 3-pointer to push Columbus Catholic girls basketball past Cadott

CADOTT – Kelsey Moore drilled a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 51-48 win over Cadott in the fifth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference Crossovers on Thursday night at Cadott High School.

The game was tight throughout, with Cadott leading 24-23 at halftime. The game was tied at 48-48 before Moore hit the game-winner.

Annika Brown had a team-high 17 points for Columbus Catholic, which finishes the regular season with an 11-11 record. Moore hit both the Dons’ 3-pointers in the game and finished with six, along with Emmalee Jicinsky. Meghan Kibbel and Jenna Kibbel each scored eight in the win.

Jade Kowalczyk had 30 points for Cadott (12-10).

Columbus Catholic will open WIAA postseason play Tuesday at home against Gilmanton in a Division 5 regional quarterfinal.
