During the coming weeks, MarshfieldAreaSports.com will be highlighting area high school senior student-athletes with our Senior Salute series.
The series continues with a look at the Marshfield High School girls soccer team’s senior players.
Coming off its first WIAA state tournament appearance last season, the Marshfield girls soccer team had eight seniors returning this year.
*Amara Arndt, a midfielder, was involved in the soccer program all four years of high school and will be attending the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse next fall.
*Mikayla Brueggen, the Tigers’ goalkeeper, was an honorable mention all-Wisconsin Valley Conference selection in 2019. She is a four-year player in the program and will be going to school at UW-Stevens Point in the fall.
*Paige Gruenling, a defender, is a two-year player for the Tigers. She will be playing soccer and studying at UW-Eau Claire in the fall.
*Nina Hashimoto, a forward, is a four-year player for Marshfield. She set the school records for goals and points (goals and assists) in 2019, earning all-state honorable mention status. The three-time first-team all-WVC selection will be attending Bowdoin College in Maine next fall and will play soccer as well.
*Cassidy Kolstad, a defender, is a four-year player for the Tigers, serving two years as a co-captain. She will be studying Environmental Engineering at UW-Platteville in the fall.
*Emerson Kopitzke, a midfielder, is a four-year member of the Tigers’ program. She will be going to college at UW-Eau Claire in the fall.
*Ana Paape, a defensive sweeper, is a four-year member of the Marshfield program. She was a two-time first-team all-WVC honoree and an honorable mention selection one year as well. Paape, a co-captain, will be attending UW-Madison in the fall.
*Paige Preston, a center midfielder, is a four-year player for the Tigers. She was an honorable mention all-WVC selection last year. Preston is a co-captain and will be attending Carroll University in Waukesha in the fall.
