MARATHON – Kelly Tomfohrde scored 14 points and had five assists to lead the Auburndale girls basketball team to a 41-22 win over Marathon on Thursday in a Marawood Conference South Division game.
Lindsay Gotz added 13 points and Liz Breu had eight points and seven rebounds for the Apaches (7-4, 4-3 Marawood South).
Auburndale led 26-12 at halftime and controlled the second half to win its third straight game.
“The win was a complete team effort on both sides of the ball,” Auburndale coach Corey Manlick said.
Auburndale posted a 50-34 nonconference win at Mosinee on Tuesday, as Tomfohrde led the way with 18 points and Breu added 10 points and six rebounds.
The Apaches look to continue their win streak with a nonconference game at Prentice next Tuesday. The Buccaneers are 10-0 this season.
