Columbus Catholic volleyball drops opener at McDonell

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team began its 2020 season with a tough road match at McDonell and lost 3-1 on Tuesday night.

McDonell won the match 26-24, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Dorci Walker had 16 kills and 13 digs, Emmalee Jicinsky added 15 kills, and Meghan Kibbel had 33 assists and three service aces for the Dons. Jenna Kibbel added 11 digs and four aces.

“It was so exciting to be back on the court,” Columbus Catholic coach Kat Egle said. “McDonell is a tough team and we played very well and worked some new players into the lineup after losing two to injury.”

Columbus opens its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule with a home match against Loyal on Thursday.
