Columbus Catholic sweeps Auburndale in nonconference volleyball

MARSHFIELD – Meghan Kibbel had 19 assists, 10 digs and three service aces to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Auburndale in a nonconference match Monday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons won 25-15, 25-20, 25-20, to improve to 4-2 this season. Auburndale drops to 1-2.

Dorci Walker led the Dons with 11 kills and 12 digs, Emmalee Jicinsky added nine kills and 11 digs, Kelsey Moore had a team-high 15 digs, and Jenna Kibbel had five service aces and 11 digs in the win.

Josie Ertl had eight kills, Maddie Krings had 21 digs, and Georgi Schmutzer had 26 assists for Auburndale. Brianna Weiler and Kaitlyn Kundinger each had six kills as well for the Eagles.

Both teams will be in action against Tuesday. Columbus Catholic is at Gilman and Auburndale will host Edgar.
