WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wausau East/West continued its dominance of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament with its fourth-straight team win to begin the nine-meet series.
East/West shot a 188 to defeat host Wisconsin Rapids by 15 shots and claim the title at the fourth leg of the tournament on Friday at Ridges Golf Course.
D.C. Everest finished third with a 209 and Marshfield was fourth with a 222.
Jasmine Yang of Wausau East/West was meet medalist with a sizzling 39, seven shots of runner-up Dylan Gruszynski of Wisconsin Rapids. Jess Nardi of East/West was third with a 47, followed by D.C. Everest’s Grace Woodward, who shot a 48.
Anna Weis led Marshfield with a 51, tying for seventh, and Morgan Meyer finished ninth with a 52. Bryssa Lenz had a 55, Sophie Lee shot a 64, and Raina Manlick had a 72 to round out the Tigers’ scoring.
The fifth meet of the tournament is Wednesday at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau with D.C. Everest serving as the host.
