WAUSAU – Tess Bruner earned medalist honors, winning by one stroke over Wausau East/West teammate Jasmine Yang, to lead their team to its seventh-straight victory in the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament series on Monday at Trapp River Golf Course.
Bruner shot a 41 and Yang had a 42 to help East/West to its seventh win in as many meets. East/West shot a 174, Wisconsin Rapids was second with a 188, D.C. Everest took third with a 205, and Marshfield shot a 216.
Wisconsin Rapids’ Logan Vollert was third (44), and Kait Haferman of Rapids, Ayla Trollop of East/West and Morgan Meyer of Marshfield tied for fourth with 45s.
Anna Weis shot a 50 to take 10th place, Sophie Lee had a 60, Bryssa Lenz shot a 61 and Tia Campbell had a 68 for Marshfield.
Meyer and Weis will compete at the WIAA Division 1 sectional Tuesday at Thornberrry Creek Golf Course in Green Bay.
The eighth meet of the tournament is scheduled for Friday at the Ridges in Wisconsin Rapids.
