Wausau East/West wraps up title at eighth WVC girls golf meet; Marshfield takes third

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wausau East/West wrapped up the team title by taking first place at the eighth leg of the 2020 Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament on Friday at the Ridges Golf Course.

East/West shot a 190, 10 shots better than Wisconsin Rapids. Marshfield finished third with a 213 and D.C. Everest was fourth with a 218.

Tess Bruner and Jasmine Yang of East/West tied for first place with 44s, two shots ahead of Marshfield’s Anna Weis, who was third with a 46.

Morgan Meyer tied for sixth with 49, Sophie Lee shot a 57, Bryssa Lenz had a 61, and Tia Campbell had a 64 for Marshfield.

Dylan Gruszynski led Wisconsin Rapids with a 49, tying for fourth. Faith Cour tied Meyer for sixth with a 49.

D.C. Everest’s top golfer was Grace Woodward, who shot a 53.

The final conference meet will be Tuesday at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon.
