Merrill edges Marshfield girls tennis

MARSHFIELD – Merrill pulled out a pair of three-set wins in singles play and pulled past Marshfield 4-3 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis match Tuesday at the Boson Tennis Complex.

Audrey Ladewig earned a three-set win over Brooklyn Dillinger at No. 2 singles, and Erin Murray beat Sonia Dissanayaka in three sets at No. 3 singles for Merrill.

Marshfield’s wins came from Sandra Costa at No. 4 singles, the No. 2 doubles team of Abigail Forst and Emma Tucker, and the No. 3 doubles team of Izabel Paape and Loryn Jakobi.

Marshfield falls to 2-4 in the WVC and will play at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
