Columbus Catholic volleyball clinches tie for Cloverbelt East title with sweep of Spencer

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team clinched at least a tie for the Cloverbelt Conference East Division title with a 3-0 sweep of Spencer on Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons won 25-4, 25-14, 25-7, to remain perfect in conference play at 6-0. Spencer ends its regular season with an 0-7 mark in the Cloverbelt East.

Emmalee Jicinsky had eight kills and seven digs, Dorci Walker added five kills, six digs and five service aces, and Meghan Kibbel had a team-high 17 assists for Columbus Catholic.

Jenna Kibbel had three kills, and Courtney Sommer chipped in two kills and four service aces in the win for the Dons.

Becca Mlsna had three kills, Courtney Lyon had five digs, and Zalexis Mannigel had 10 assists to lead Spencer in each category.

Columbus Catholic hosts Colby on Friday, and with a win will be the sole winner of the Cloverbelt East this season. Colby can earn a tie for the title with a victory.
