Columbus Catholic volleyball sweeps Colby, claims outright Cloverbelt East title

MARSHFIELD – For the fourth year in a row, the Columbus Catholic volleyball team is Cloverbelt Conference East Division champions.

The Dons wrapped up an undefeated conference schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Colby on Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus Catholic won 25-16, 25-18, 25-17, to finish the Cloverbelt East season with a 7-0 record.

Dorci Walker had 20 kills and eight digs, Emmalee Jicinsky added 12 kills and four digs, and Meghan Kibbel had 29 assists, three blocks and two service aces for the Dons.

Kelsey Moore added 12 digs, Courtney Sommer had nine digs and two aces, and Jenna Kibbel also had nine digs for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus Catholic will host a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal next Thursday, Oct. 22, against the winner of Tuesday’s match between Loyal and Owen-Withee.
