Marshfield volleyball drops finale at Hortonville, ties for WVC championship

HORTONVILLE – The Marshfield volleyball team wrapped up its 2020 season with a 3-1 loss to Hortonville on Monday night at Hortonville High School.

The Tigers finish the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 9-3 record and tie for the conference championship with D.C. Everest. It is Marshfield’s first WVC volleyball title since 2006, when it also tied with Everest.

Hortonville won the match 25-20, 26-24, 16-25, 25-22, and finish the Valley season 7-4.

Elise Uphoff led the Marshfield defense with 18 digs, Taylor Barwick had 18 assists and Brianna Jakobi added 14 assists, and Brooklyn Boushack had a team-high 18 kills for Marshfield.
