MARATHON – Nine different Auburndale players scored, three in double figures, as the Eagles cruised to a 65-40 win over Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Marathon High School.
Annamarie Aue had nine points and Kaitlyn Kundinger added eight in the first half as Auburndale built a commanding 41-13 lead by halftime.
Kundinger finished with a team-high 14 points, Aue had 11 and Hailey Grimm chipped in 10 for the Eagles, who improve to 2-0 overall and in the Marawood South.
Hope Krautkramer scored 13 points for Marathon, which is now 1-1 overall and in conference play.
Auburndale plays at Abbotsford in a Marawood North-South crossover game Friday and hosts Edgar in its home opener Tuesday. Marathon is off until Tuesday when it hosts Stratford.
