MARSHFIELD – Mosinee started the game on a 13-0 run and held on the rest of the way, defeating Marshfield 48-34 in a nonconference girls basketball game Thursday night at Marshfield High School.
Alexis Freiboth had 17 points, six rebounds and five steals for Mosinee, which remains undefeated in the early season at 3-0.
Marshfield shot just 26 percent from the field (11 of 42) and missed six of its 12 free throw attempts, dropping to 0-2 this season. The Tigers were also bitten by the turnover bug, committing 23.
Danielle Minsaas had 11 points and six rebounds to lead Marshfield in both categories.
Marshfield hosts Hudson in a nonconference game Saturday at 5 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com/live-sports. Mosinee’s next game is Dec. 11 at home against Rhinelander.
