ABBOTSFORD – The Auburndale boys basketball team kicked off its 2020-21 season with a dominating 69-40 win over Abbotsford in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Abbotsford High School.
Auburndale pulled out to a 36-19 lead by halftime and cruised to the win.
Hunter Wright had 23 points and 10 rebounds, Carl Lundgren added 17 points, and Alex Willfahrt chipped in 12 for the Eagles.
Cade Faber had 16 points to lead Abbotsford, which was also playing its season opener.
Abbotsford hosts Athens in a Marawood North matchup on Monday, while Auburndale will be back in action Tuesday at Medford.
