SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team evened its record at 2-2 with a 52-47 nonconference win over Wausau Newman Catholic on Monday night at Spencer High School.

Heavyn Kind scored 14 points, Madison Knecht added 13, Amber Becker had 10 and Elexa Post chipped in nine for the Rockets in a balanced scoring attack.

Sidney Galang led Newman Catholic (0-3) with 18 points.

Spencer returns to action Friday with a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at home against Marshfield Columbus Catholic. Newman Catholic will host Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a Marawood Conference South Division game on Tuesday.
