Columbus Catholic boys basketball beats Loyal, remains unbeaten

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team found itself in another tight game, and again was able to find a way to win.

With the game tied at halftime, Columbus outscored Loyal 30-24 over the final 18 minutes to pull out a 55-49 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Eden Jacobson scored 14 points, Sam Wilczek had 12, and Jadon Nienast added 10 for the Dons, who remain perfect this season at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East.

Daymain Baird had 18 points and Drew Stieglitz added 15 for Loyal (2-4, 1-3 Cloverbelt East).

Columbus Catholic returns to action Friday with a home conference game against Gilman at 7:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast on zaleskisports.com/live-sports.
