Wausau West uses second-half surge to down Marshfield girls basketball

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield gave unbeaten Wausau West all it could handle, but the Warriors were able to pull away in the second half to win 54-45 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

West led 29-27 at halftime, then held the Tigers to only 18 points in the second half to pull out the victory and remain perfect this season at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Quincy Lang had four 3-pointers and 14 points, and Loryn Jakobi scored 12 for Marshfield, which falls to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the Valley.

Marshfield is off until Dec. 22 when it plays at Stevens Point.
