MARSHFIELD – Eau Claire Regis was raining 3s and the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team couldn’t answer.
Regis made more 3-pointers (10) than conventional 2-point baskets (8) and defeated the Dons 56-40 in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Columbus Catholic High School.
MaKenna Rohrscheib, Ava Highman and Jessica Sabbagh each nailed three 3-pointers for the Ramblers (4-2). Rohrscheib had a game-high 24 points and Highman finished with 10 for Regis.
Maggie Callaghan and Jenna Kibbel each had nine points to pace Columbus Catholic, which drops to 3-7 after losing for the fifth time in the last six games.
Columbus Catholic hosts undefeated Neillsville for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com/live-sports.
