Marshfield boys basketball cruises past Wausau East to pick up first win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys basketball team returned from a two-week hiatus and earned its first victory of the season, pounding Wausau East 58-38 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield pulled out to a 31-15 lead by halftime and pushed the lead to 20 by game’s end.

Carson Kvernen scored a team-high 18 points, Gavin Fravert added 14 points, and Sam Roherty had 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Marshfield.

Marshfield (1-2 overall and Wisconsin Valley Conference) returns to action Dec. 29 at home against Eau Claire Memorial.
