Marshfield boys basketball drops road game at Wausau East

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team dropped its third-straight game, losing to previously winless Wausau East 69-55 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Saturday afternoon at Wausau East High School.

Wausau East shot 63 percent from the field and finished 17 of 23 at the free throw line, including a 14-for-15 performance from Gabe Napgezek.

East (1-8, 1-4 Wisconsin Valley Conference) led 40-29 at halftime and was able to maintain its double-digit lead. Napgezek finished with 25 points and Isaac Rozwadowski added 10 for the Lumberjacks.

Junior guard Chase Hinson had 21 points for Marshfield, which drops to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the WVC.

Marshfield is off until Friday when it plays at Wisconsin Rapids.
