Wittenberg-Birnamwood sends Columbus Catholic boys basketball to second-straight loss

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team dropped its second-straight game, falling at home to Wittenberg-Birnamwood 79-65 in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

Eden Jacobson had 23 points, Emmitt Konieczny chipped in 13 points and Jadon Nienast scored 11 for the Dons, who fall to 8-3.

Simon Schairer scored 19 points and Ben Wesolowski had 18 points for Wittenberg-Birnamwood (6-5).

Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference game at Almond-Bancroft on Thursday before hosting Neillsville in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game on Friday. Friday’s game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
