Stratford boys basketball drops home game to Edgar

STRATFORD – Edgar held Stratford to 41 percent shooting and defeated the Tigers 61-34 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Stratford High School.

The win is Edgar’s fourth in a row as the Wildcats improve to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the Marawood South, remaining one-half game behind first-place Auburndale. Stratford is now 5-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Max Vanderhoof scored eight points to lead the Tigers. Edgar statistics were not reported.

Stratford will play at Abbotsford on Monday and Edgar is at Athens on Tuesday in Marawood crossover matchups.
