MOSINEE – Mosinee scored three times in the first period and held on from there, edging Marshfield 3-2 in a nonconference boys hockey game Friday night at the Mosinee City Recreation Center.
Russell Bittner scored 35 seconds into the game, and Caden Schmrier and Slade Krause added power-play goals as Mosinee built a 3-0 lead.
Tyler Reissmann scored in the second period and Ben Konrardy added a goal late in the third period, both on power plays, to bring the Tigers to within a goal, but Mosinee was able to hold on.
Marshfield falls to 5-7 and Mosinee is now 10-3-1.
Marshfield returns to action Tuesday at home against D.C. Everest, and Mosinee will be at home against DeForest. Both games will be live at zaleskisports.com.
