Marshfield boys hockey earns home win over D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the second period to bust open a scoreless game and defeat D.C. Everest 4-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Triston Reissmann, Payton Smith and Adam Zee scored for the Tigers in the second period to help them build a 3-0 lead.

After D.C. Everest’s Keaton Oettinger scored a power-play goal with 5:02 to go in the second period, but Marshfield countered with a Damyon Hains goal in the final minute of regulation to finish off the three-goal victory.

Cole Halvorsen only had to make nine saves in goal for Marshfield, which controlled play throughout.

Marshfield (6-7, 5-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) will play at Wausau West on Thursday.
