AMHERST – Auburndale jumped on Amherst early and cruised to a 62-45 win in a nonconference boys basketball game Thursday at Amherst High School.
Auburndale pulled out to a 37-18 lead by halftime and was able to maintain its double-digit lead to the finish, winning its ninth game in a row to improve to 11-2 this season.
Hunter Wright scored 20 points and Carl Lundgren added 14 points for the Eagles.
Auburndale shot 59 percent (26 of 44) in the victory.
Auburndale hosts Rib Lake for a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday.
