EDGAR – Kaitlyn Kundinger scored 20 points in the second half as the Auburndale girls basketball team pulled away late to rout Edgar 69-49 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Edgar High School.
Auburndale held a slight 31-27 lead at halftime before Kundinger erupted, making eight field goals, including two 3-pointers, to lead the way for the Eagles as they outscored Edgar 38-22 in the second half.
Kundinger finished with 24 points and Annamarie Aue added 16 for Auburndale, winners of three in a row to improve to 13-4 overall and 8-3 in the Marawood South.
Auburndale pulls into a tie with Stratford at 8-3, while Wisconsin Rapids Assumption is 6-2 in the Marawood South as the season winds down. Edgar falls to 11-8 and 8-5 in conference play.
Makenna Guden led Edgar with 23 points.
Both teams return to action Thursday. Auburndale will be at home against Rib Lake and Edgar will play at Assumption.
