Stratford boys basketball blows past Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Stratford boys basketball team reached the .500 mark in Marawood Conference South Division play with a dominating 67-30 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Monday at Assumption High School.

The Tigers led 24-13 at halftime before blowing the game open in the second half with a 43-point performance.

Stratford shot 50 percent (24 of 48) and made 17 free throws in the win, improving to 11-8 overall and 7-7 in the Marawood Conference South Division. Assumption falls to 1-16 and 1-12 in conference play.

Max Vanderhoof and Camden Daul each had 12 points for the Tigers in a balanced scoring attack.

Stratford will play a Marawood crossover game at Prentice on Tuesday before hosting Rib Lake on Thursday to finish its regular-season schedule.
