SPENCER – Noah Grimm and Wyatt Grimm each drove in two to lead Pittsville to a 6-3 win over Spencer in a nonconference baseball game Friday at Spencer High School.
Pittsville improves to 1-2 beating the Rockets in their season opener.
Noah Grimm struck out 17 in 6 2/3 innings to earn the win for the Panthers. Noah Calverly and Haley each had two hits.
Chase Higgins struck out 12 in five innings, giving up five runs in the loss for Spencer. He also had an RBI.
Pittsville plays at Abbotsford/Colby on Monday, and Spencer opens up Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Tuesday at home against Greenwood.
