AUBURNDALE – Ashlyn Grimm and Samantha Stanton combined on a one-hit shutout to lead the Auburndale softball team to a 14-0 win over Rib Lake in nonconference action Friday at Auburndale High School.
Grimm allowed one hit in four innings, striking out seven, and Stanton tossed a scoreless fifth. Auburndale finished off the win via the 10-run rule with an eight-run fourth inning.
Kaydee Jo Zenner had two hits and two RBIs, and Georgi Schmutzer knocked in three runs with a hit and a sacrifice fly for the Eagles
Auburndale (2-0) hosts Wausau Newman Catholic on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. in its Marawood Conference South opener.
