MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield softball team swept a Wisconsin Valley Conference doubleheader from Wausau West, winning both games 10-0, on Tuesday at Madison Field.

The Tigers scored seven times in the bottom of the fifth inning to end Game 1 via the 10-run rule and needed the full seven innings in the second game, scoring multiple runs in four different frames.

Courtney Donahue allowed just one hit in four innings in the opener to earn the win, and had two hits and two RBIs for the Tigers.

Brianna Jakobi added a double and two RBIs in the victory.

In Game 2, Sandy Costa threw three shutout innings to grab the win for Marshfield. Donahue threw the final four innings, striking out 11.

Donahue had two singles, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored to pace the Tigers’ offense. Brianna Jakobi and Loryn Jakobi each had two RBIs in the victory.

Marshfield (4-2, 3-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) hosts Eau Claire Memorial for a nonconference doubleheader Thursday at Madison Field starting at 4 p.m.
