WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Ava Schill tossed a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Sadie Galbreath knocked in five runs to push Wisconsin Rapids Assumption to a 10-0 win over Stratford in the Marawood Conference South Division opener for both teams on Tuesday at Robinson Park.

Schill, who has allowed just two hits and no runs in three starts this season, got plenty of offense from her teammates as the Royals put up multiple runs in the first three innings. Assumption scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game due to the 10-run rule.

Galbreath had a single and a double, driving in five runs, and Cristin Casey had three hits and scored four times for Assumption (3-0, 1-0 Marawood South).

Bailey Linzmeier had the only hit for Stratford (2-2, 0-1 Marawood South).

The two teams will meet again Thursday at 4:45 p.m. at Hilgemann Field in Stratford. The game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
