SPENCER – The Spencer baseball team dropped its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener to Greenwood 10-0 on Tuesday at Spencer High School.
Greenwood scored once in the first inning and added multiple runs in three other frames to roll to the win, which ended after six innings due to the 10-run rule.
Kyler Bainer and Andrew Sieracki each had a single to account for the Rockets’ only hits.
Cooper Bredlau earned the win, striking out 10, and allowing just one hit and two walks in 4 2/3 innings for Greenwood.
Westen Schmitz had three hits and three RBIs, and Jonah Hinker, Cooper Bredlau and Fletcher Brelau each had two hits for the Indians (2-2, 1-0 Cloverbelt East). The Indians host Loyal on Thursday and Neillsville on Friday.
Spencer (1-1, 0-1 Cloverbelt East) plays at Loyal on Friday.
