COLBY – Hailey Zimmermann struck out 12 in a complete-game effort and also went 5-for-5 and scored three times as the Columbus Catholic softball team outslugged Colby/Abbotsford 14-8 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Colby High School.
The Dons pounded out 14 hits overall, which included three from Raella Schueller and two from Haley Van Whye. Schueller had five RBIs and Autumn Vine knocked in three for the Dons (3-4, 3-3 Cloverbelt East).
Columbus hosts Chippewa Falls McDonell on Monday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
