The Marshfield baseball team slugged its way to a doubleheader sweep of Wausau East on Thursday at East High School, cruising to wins of 10-3 and 12-2.
The Tigers are now 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. East falls to 8-6 and 3-3 in conference action.
Logan Homolka earned the win in Game 1 for Marshfield, striking out five in 6 1/3 innings. He also had a pair of RBIs at the plate.
Parker Weik had three hits and four RBIs, and Nick Urban, Peter Earll and Carsten Jirschele each added two hits in the victory for the Tigers.
Marshfield scored in all five of its at-bats in the second game, winning via the 10-run rule in five innings.
Urban was hot again at the plate out of the leadoff spot, drilling three singles. He also earned the win on the mound, striking out four and allowing one run in four innings.
Simon Slade was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, Trey Montalvo drove in a pair with a double, and Tim Kraus and Will Fetting each had two hits for the Tigers.
Marshfield hosts Eau Claire Memorial at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Hackman Field.
