Zimmermann hits two long balls as Columbus Catholic blasts Rib Lake

RIB LAKE – Hailey Zimmermann hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, and earned the pitching win with three hitless innings to lead the Columbus Catholic softball team to a 14-0 win over Rib Lake in a nonconference game Monday.

Zimmermann hit a grand slam in the second inning and a solo shot in the fourth. She added a RBI single in the fifth to finish 3-for-4 with six RBIs.

Sam Casperson, who pitched the final two innings, added a double and two RBIs, and Breanna Duda had two hits for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Gilman on Tuesday.
