AUBURNDALE – Auburndale had 16 hits and scored multiple runs in three at-bats to blow past Colby/Abbotsford 11-1 in a nonconference softball game Monday at Auburndale High School.
The Eagles (10-3) scored five times in the second inning, added a pair in the fifth, and finished off the game with four runs in the sixth, ending it via the 10-run rule.
Samantha Stanton pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win for Auburndale, striking out three without a walk. She also added a single and an RBI double.
Faith Hafermann went 3-for-4 and scored three times, Hailey Grimm was 3-for-4 with a two-run single and an RBI double, and Kaydee Jo Zenner had three hits and a bases-loaded three-run double in the second inning for the Eagles.
Emma Oelrich had both of Colby/Abbotsford’s hits. The Hornets are now 3-10 and host Spencer at Colby High School on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Auburndale hosts Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
